Echo, womb (2024) is a vase form in cast, glazed terracotta. The work represents a sequence of castings, where the shape originates from a plaster mould for a vase. Thus, the work reveals and explores its own technical making process. The glaze emphasizes the lines of the shape from the smaller vase and the edge of the casting mould, like a vase inside another vase, or an enclosed cavity in a container – which also evokes bodily associations.
